Copy of Acumatica User Rights for DataSelf

Safety copy –
Michelle, Zack and Peter have given feedback to this rewrite. This draft is based on a version and Michelle and I worked on. Joni will be give final review rights after we work on it.

Configure Acumatica for DataSelf ETL+ with user credentials with the required access rights.

Only people properly trained in Acumatica should make changes to its settings.

Please consult your Acumatica VAR for assistance.

DataSelf ETL+ requires a Acumatica user with user roles which give ETL+ the ability to read and extract/download data from Acumatica.

Acumatica Roles Required

  • Minimum role: Anonymous.
Depending on other Acumatica security settings, the Anonymous role may not be enough for OData extraction by ETL+.

  • Recommended Roles: These roles may allow DataSelf to be able to provide further support:
    Administrator, BI, Customizer, DashboardDesigner, ReportDesigner.

  • For Acumatica v 2020 R2 or newerOData v4.

NOTES

  • Existing Acumatica permissions may prevent the download of some tables. You will need to work with your VAR, Acumatica Tech Support, or internal expert to adjust permissions for such tables.

  •  Log file will show tables ETL+ can’t access. If the roles assigned to the Acumatica user don't grant ETL+ full access to all tables in Acumatica, the log file will show which tables are blocked after the first attempt at refreshing in ETL+.

Configuring Acumatica and Informing DataSelf

  1. Setup your Acumatica site with a user with the user roles required by ETL+.
We recommend working with a qualified Acumatica expert to make this security change.

  2. Inform DataSelf using the secure URL of the Acumatica user credentials.

    • During the initial implementation, your organization will receive a URL to a form that provides DataSelf with the Acumatica user credentials required by ETL+.
