Solution

The log file is indicating that Tableau’s tabcmd.exe utility isn’t connecting via the tabcmd login command to your Tableau Web Server.
This could be due to:

Credentials (URL to Tableau Web Server, Username & Password)

  • Credentials in the static parameter file no longer valid  (file is usually SParms.ps1).
Credentials include URL to Tableau Web Server, username & password.

    • Fix for clients with DSA AD installed on-prem (on one of your computer servers).

      1. Update the Tableau Web Server credentials on the static parameter file.

    • Fix for DSA Cloud AD clients.

      1. Identify the credentials that need to be changed.

      2. Contact DataSelf support and request they make the change.

Tableau Upgrade (new version of Tableau Web Server)

  • Change or upgrade to Tableau – older release of the tabcmd.exe utility may no longer work with newer version of Tableau Web Server.

    • Fix for clients with DSA AD installed on-prem (on one of your computer servers).

      1. Download appropriate release of tabcmd from Tableau.

      2. Install the new release of tabcmd on the server hosting DSA AD.

      3. Adjust the setting in the static parameter file to point to new file.

DSA AD & Cloud AD Requirements in Context

  1. Must be able to login to Tableau web server using the the URL and credentials stored in DSA AD’s static parameter file.

  2. A tabcmd.exe file and installation must be located in the path stored in the static parameter file.

  3. The tabcmd.exe login command must be able to connect to Tableau Web Server using the tabcmd.exe file path, URL and credentials stored in DSA AD's static parameter file.
