Force Refresh / ":refresh=yes" Option

Tableau reports generally run from a cached version of the data source extract.   In some versions of Tableau there is been bug where Tableau is not updating the cache as it is supposed to.   But there is a workaround - “:refresh=yes”.

Tableau reports generally run from a cached version of the data source extract.   In some versions of Tableau there was been bug where Tableau is not updating the cache as it is supposed to.   But there is a workaround that forces Tableau to refresh/update the cache.

To take advantage of this workaround the first row’s URL-Filter column should include the “:refresh=yes” string. This only needs to be done once per run … once the cache is refreshed for the first report run then it’s refreshed for the reports that follow.
