DataSelf ETL+ Deployment Options

DataSelf Value Proposition

DataSelf offers flexible deployment options to meet your organization's security, infrastructure, compliance, data residency, and performance requirements. Components can be deployed in the DataSelf Cloud (AWS and/or Azure), the client's private cloud, on-premises, or in a hybrid architecture.

Whether your priority is rapid deployment, minimizing IT administration, keeping transaction data within your environment, or supporting regulated workloads such as HIPAA or FedRAMP, DataSelf provides an architecture to fit your requirements.

Common Deployment Options

Fully Managed by DataSelf (Most Popular)

DataSelf hosts all ETL+ cloud services in the DataSelf Cloud (AWS and/or Azure), providing the fastest deployment with minimal IT administration.

This option is ideal for organizations that want a fully managed platform while maintaining flexibility over where analytical data is stored.

Hybrid Deployment

The ETL+ Metadata Server is hosted in the DataSelf Cloud, while the data warehouse resides in the client's private cloud or on-premises.

This architecture keeps transactional and analytical data within the client's environment while leveraging DataSelf-managed cloud services for ETL metadata, administration, monitoring, and AI-assisted development.

It provides an excellent balance between ease of management and data control.

Customer-Hosted Metadata

The ETL+ Metadata Server and data warehouse are hosted entirely within the client's private cloud or on-premises infrastructure.

If the ETL+ Web interface is not required, the API and Web Server components are optional.

Organizations that want to use the DataSelf Cloud Web platform can establish a secure IP-to-IP tunnel between their environment and the DataSelf Cloud. In this configuration, only ETL metadata, configuration, and operational logs are exchanged—transaction data never leaves the client's environment.

This option is commonly selected by organizations with stricter security or data residency requirements.

Fully Customer-Hosted

All DataSelf components—including ETL+, metadata services, APIs, web services, AI services, and the data warehouse—are deployed entirely within the client's private cloud or on-premises infrastructure.

This architecture provides maximum control over infrastructure, networking, security, and compliance while allowing organizations to manage their own environments according to internal policies.

Deployments for Regulated Industries

DataSelf supports customer-managed deployments for organizations operating under strict regulatory or security requirements.

Common examples include:

  • HIPAA

  • FedRAMP

  • DoD IL4/IL5

  • CJIS

  • ITAR

  • Financial services

  • Internal corporate security policies

Organizations can deploy DataSelf entirely within their own private cloud, government cloud, or on-premises infrastructure so that business transaction data remains under their control.

Supported customer-managed environments include:

  • Microsoft Azure

  • Azure Government (GCC and GCC High)

  • AWS

  • AWS GovCloud

  • Other private cloud and on-premises environments

Compliance is achieved through the customer's overall infrastructure, security controls, operational processes, and governance. DataSelf provides the software platform that integrates with those environments.

Data Residency and Privacy

DataSelf was designed so organizations can choose where their business data resides.

Depending on the selected architecture:

  • Business transaction data can remain entirely within the customer's environment.

  • ETL metadata, configuration, and operational logs may be managed in the DataSelf Cloud.

  • Or, all DataSelf components can be deployed entirely within the customer's infrastructure.

This flexibility helps organizations satisfy security, privacy, and data residency requirements without sacrificing modern reporting, BI, dashboards, or AI capabilities.
