External Object: Tableau

Use it to refresh Tableau data sources manually and/or as part of ETL+ Jobs. Tableau Cloud and Tableau Server supported.

• Click + on External Objects → Power BI.

• Fill out:

  • Data source name: Enter your Tableau data source name.

  • Project: Enter the Project name where the data source is.

  • Parent Project: Enter the parent project in case the data source is in a sub project.

  • Site: Enter site if required.

  • Delta Refresh: Select Full or Incremental. Incremental will require the data source to be properly configured for delta refreshes.

  • Confirm → Save.

    

• After you’ve added your first data source, you need to configure the ETL+ API access to your Tableau Cloud or Tableau Server. Click here to learn more.

• Then the Tableau data sources will show on your ETL+ entity like the example below.

  

• You can then run these objects manually by cliking their Run icon, and/or schedule to run them as part of your ETL+ Jobs.

• You can also use the … icon for deleting them, and assigning Tags (if needed).
